area of shaded region=L×B

=3m×4m

=12m²

area outer boundaries-area of shaded region

= 312m²-12m²

Solution .

area of the rectangular portion

=(26*12)cm²=312 cm²

now..each oval shape portion ....i mean half circle portion (see in figure)...radius is

=[12-(4+4)]/2=2cm

therefore...

area of the internal rectangular portion(see in fig)

=4×[26-{(3+2)+(3+2)}]

=4×[16]

=64 cm²

now area of half circles(two half circles of same radius will make a complete circle)

=π*2²

=4π cm²

therefore area of the shaded portion is

=312-[64+4π]

=312-(64+4*3.14)

=312-76.56

=235.44 cm²
