In 60 minutes the needle moves 360°

This means in 1 minute the needle will move 6°

To cover 180°, the needle has to move 180/6= 30 minutes , So if the hour hand is on 8 , then minute hand will be 30 minute later it , i.e at 2, So the time is 8:10.(after multiplying 2 by 5 we get 10).
