A Man walks 500m on a straight road in 10min and return along the same path in

20minutes​

Formula of average speed:-

$\overline{v} = \dfrac{Total \ distance}{Total \ time}$

So,

=> $\overline{v} = \dfrac{500 m + 500 m}{10 + 20 mins}$

=> $\overline{v} = \dfrac{1 km}{0.5 h}$

=> $\overline{v} = 2 kmh^{-1}$

Now, average velocity:-

$v_{av} = \dfrac{Total \ displacement}{Total \ time}$

=> $v_{av} = \dfrac{0}{0.5 h} = 0 kmh^{-1}$.

So, the average speed and velocity of the man was 2 km/h and 0 km/h respectively.
