Observances:  As per figure given,

CD is the median of the triangle.

            We know, ∠ACB = 90°  (If a triangle is inscribed in a circle so that one of its sides is a diameter of the circle, then the triangle is a right triangle)

Therefore,  Δ ACB is a right-angled triangle.

Here, AB is the hypotenuse = Diameter = 10 cm (given)

and, AC = 6 cm (given)

By pythagoras theorem,

AB² = AC² + BC²

10² = 6² + BC²

BC² = 100 - 36 = 64

BC = √64 = 8 cm

∴ The length of side BC is 8 cm

Hence, option D is the correct answer.
