Let BC=b.
Area of triangle ABC=1/2 ×b×h
A (triangleABC) =1/2×BC×AD
36 = 1/2×b×3
36 ×2 = b×3
72 = b ×3
72/3 =b
b =24
AD=24cm

Answer:

If the area of the triangle ABC is 36 cm and the corresponding height AD is 3 cm, then BC is 24 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: The area of the triangle ABC = 36 cm

and the corresponding height AD = 3 cm

Find BC means the base of a triangle.

By using the area of the triangle find the base of the triangle

The area of the triangle = 1/2 × base  × height

The area of the triangle ABC = 1/2  × BC  × AD

1/2  × BC  × 3 = 36

3 BC = 36  × 2

3 BC = 72

BC = 72/3

BC = 24 cm

So, base BC is 24 cm.
