(1) assume roots are α, β, γ so now roots of a cubic equation are α + 1, β + 1, γ + 1 so y = α + 1 α = y – 1

it is root of equation (1)

so (y – 1)3 – 5(y – 1)2 + 6(y – 1) – 3 = 0 ⇒ y3 – 8y2 + 19x – 15 = 0
