Area of base is circle so area of circle = π (r)^2               176 = 3.14 (r)^2         176 / 3.14 =  (r)^2            (r)^2 = 56.05              r = 7.48 cm  C.S.A. of a cylinder = 2πrh                             = 2 × 3.14 × 7.48 × 30                      = 1409.232 cm^2 (aprrox)
