a2=x-y
a3=x-3y
d=a2-a1 and d=a3-a2
d=x-y-[x+y] and d= x-3y-[x-y]
d=x-y-x-y and d=x-3y-x+y
d=-2y and d=-2y
Therefore, d=-2y
To find next four terms of an AP:
a4=a+3d a5=a+4d a6=a+5d
=x+y+3[-2y] =x+y+4[-2y] =x+y+5[-2y]
=x+y-6y a5 =x-7y a6=x-9y
a4 =x-5y
a7=a+6d
=x+y+6[-2y]
a7=x-11y
