x1=a, y1=b, x2=-a and y2=-b

Using distance formula

distance =  \sqrt{(x2 - x1) ^{2}  + (y2 - y1) ^{2} }  \\  \:  \:  \:  =  \sqrt{ (- a - a)^{2}  + ( - b - b)^{2} }  \\  \:  \:  \:  =  \sqrt{( -2 a) ^{2}  + ( - 2b)^{2} }  \\   \:  \:  \: =  \sqrt{4 {a}^{2} + 4 {b}^{2}  }  \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  =  \sqrt{4( {a}^{2}  + b ^{2}) }  \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  = 2 \sqrt{ {a}^{2} +  {b}^{2}  }
