x^1/2 + y^1/2 = 4

Differentiating both sides with respect to x

1/2(x)^-1/2 + 1/2(y)^-1/2 × dy/dx = 0

1/[2×root(x)]+1/[2×root(y)] × dy/dx = 0

dy/dx = - [2×root(y)]/[2×root(x)]

= - root(y/x)
