The value of E₁ is 20 V E₂ is 17.5 V and I is 2.5 A

The value of current through 3Ω resistance is I (Given)

Current passing through 2Ω resistance is = 2.5 A

∴ Total amount of current passing through 5 ohm resistor is = (2.5 + I) A

The power dissipated in 5Ω resistor is (P) = 125 W

We know,

P = I²R [I = Total current passed, R = Resistance]

∴ 125 = (2.5 + I)² × 5

⇒ (2.5 + I)² = 25

⇒(2.5 + I) = 5

⇒ I = 2.5 A

So, the amount of current passed through 3 ohm resistor, i.e., I will be 2.5 A

By applying KVL in the two loops, we get,

E₁ = 20 V

E₂ = 17.5 V
