The ratio is the way of comparing two quantities of the same unit which is expressed as a:b.
The simplest form of a ratio is defined as the lowest numbers which can be assigned after which the numbers cannot be further divided,
To get the simplest form we continuously divide the numbers until it reaches the lowest form or directly divides the numbers by their HCF.
The given ratio is 24:56 which can be expressed as,
[tex]=\frac{24}{56} \\ [/tex]
Now dividing the numbers by 4,
[tex]=\frac{24}{56} \\\\ =\frac{24\div 4}{56\div 4} \\\\ =\frac{6}{14} [/tex]
Now dividing the numbers by 2,
[tex]=\frac{6}{14} \\\\ =\frac{3}{7} [/tex]
Hence, the simplest form is 3:7.
