According to my knowledge current takes the path with least resistance.

So we can avoid all paths having 2 ohm resistance (you can refer the attachment with this answer in which avoided paths are drawn with pink colour)

So

Effective resistance (R eff)= 1ohm+1ohm+1ohm+1ohm+1ohm+1ohm=6 ohm
