Explanation:

First we will change them into series resistors

i.e

ACB (SERIES) = 15 OHM. - - - - 1

ADB (SERIES) = 23 OHM. - - - - 2

AB ( SERIES) = 5 OHM - - - - 3

and E is common for C & D which is also in series (CED) = 10 OHM

NOW,

EQUATION ( 1,2 and 3) will become parallel to each other whose resistance, 1/R = 1/15 + 1/5 + 1/23

= 107/345

R = 345/107

= 3.2 ohm

Hence, 3.2 ohm and CED = 10 ohm will be in series so the final resistance will be = 13.2 ohm

Equivalent resistance = 13.2 ohm
