Explanation:

a)

resistors from point A, to B are in series

so 2+2+2=6ohm

similarly

D to C are in series

so 2+2+2=6ohm

now we get the resistors in square form

6 ohm parallel resustors

so Rnet=R1R2/R1+R2=6×6/6+6=3ohm

2 ohm resistors are parallel

so R1R2/R1+R2=2×2/2+2=1ohm

now the arrangement of resistors change

they are in parallel so R1+R2=3+1=4ohm

b)

2ohm ,6ohm resistors are //el

so 2×6/2+6=12/8=1.5ohm

now agian arrangement of resistors change

so now the resistors are in series

so Rnet=R1+R2=3+1.5=4.5ohm
