Question :-

to find the equivalent resistance??

Solution:-

Mark the resistances as R1 , R2 and R3 as shown in the figure attached.

the resistances R2 and R3 are in series combination as the current flowing through them is equal..

for series combination,

resultant resistance of R2& R3 = R2 + R3

= R (23) = 3 ohm + 3 ohm

= R (23) = 6 ohm

the resistance R1 and equivalent resistance of R2 and R3 are in parallel combination as the potential difference across their end is equal..

for parallel combination,,

equivalent resistance [ R eq] =

{ \bold{ \implies{  \frac{1}{r \: eq} =  \frac{1}{r1}   +  \frac{1}{r23} }}}

{ \bold{ \implies{  \frac{1}{r \: eq} \:  =  \frac{1}{3}   +  \frac{1}{6} }}}

{ \bold{ \implies{ \frac{1}{r \: eq} \:  =  \frac{3}{6}  }}}

= R eq = 2 ohm

therefore ,

the equivalent resistance is equal to 2 ohm
