Answer:

Given that

f(x) = x {}^{3} + 2x {}^{2} + 6x + 8

To find f(-1)

Put x = - 1 in f(x)

We get

f(-1) = (-1)^3 + 2(-1)^2 + 6(-1) + 8

f(-1) = - 1 + 2 - 6 + 8

f(-1) = 3

f(x) = {x}^{3} + 2x {}^{2} + 6x + 8 \\ \\ x = - 1 \\ \\ f( - 1) = (- 1) {}^{3} + 2( - 1) {}^{2} + 6( - 1) + 8 \\ \\ f( - 1) = - 1 + 2 - 6 + 8 \\ \\ f( x) = 1 + 2 \\ \\ = 3

hope its helps.........
