when an is raised to a height, it attains potential energy (PE)

PE = mgh
m is the mass
g is the acceleration due gravity (9.8 m/s^2 for earth)
h is the height

so PE = 10 × 9.8×6 = 588 joule

Potential energy=M×g×h
=10×9.8×6
=588J
