solution

we know that,

  • circumference of circle = 2πr

➟ 2πr = 88cm

➟ 2 × 22/7 × r = 88 cm

➟ 44r/7 = 88 cm

➟ 44r = 88 × 7 cm

➟ r = (88 × 7)/44 cm

➟ r = 2 × 7 cm

➟ r = 14 cm

now, we know that,

  • curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh

➟ 2 × 22/7 × 14 × 5

➟ 2 × 22 × 2 × 5

➟ 88 × 5

➟ 440 cm²

so, curved surface area of the cylinder is 440 cm²

Firstly we will find the Radius of Cylinder :

Using Formula :

Putting Values :

\longmapsto\tt{88=2\times\dfrac{22}{7}\times{r}}

\longmapsto\tt{88\times{7}=44\:r}

\longmapsto\tt{616=44\:r}

\longmapsto\tt{r=\cancel\dfrac{616}{44}}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{r=14\:cm}

Now ,

For Curved Surface Area :

Using Formula :

\longmapsto\tt\boxed{C.S.A\:of\:Cylinder=2\pi{rh}}

Putting Values :

\longmapsto\tt{2\times\dfrac{22}{{\cancel{7}}}\times{{\cancel{14}}}\times{5}}

\longmapsto\tt{44\times{2}\times{5}}

\longmapsto\tt{88\times{5}}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{440\:{cm}^{2}}
