We have two methods.

In First we have to make the denominator same and than count the numbers lie between.

In second we have to use Formulae (a+b)/2. ( where a and b are rational numbers. ) ~Class 8th syllabus.

Sol'n.

To make the denominator same.

We have to find the LCM ( lowest common factor ) of both the denominators.

LCM of 4 and 8 is 8.

-1/4 = (-1*2)/8 = -2/8

3/8 = 3/8

So, The Rational Numbers are -1/8 ,0/8 ,1/8 ,2/8 ,3/8.
