the answer to your question ;
1/4 and 1/2we will take lcm of 4 and 2 ...so that their denomenator would became sametheir lcm is 4 now we have to find 5 rational numbers b/w 1/4 and 2/4now we will multiply both the equations by 61/4 x 6 =6/242/4 x 6 = 12/24
therefore .....7/24 , 8/24 , 9/24 , 10/24 , 11/24

1/2 = 4/8
2/8 < 3/8 < 4/8      First number is 3/8

1/4 = 3/12
1/2 = 6/12
So 3/12 < 4/12 < 5/12 < 8/12  

2 next rational numbers between 1/4 and 1/2 are  4/12 = 1/3, 5/12 

1/4 = 4/16
1/2 = 8/16
4/16 < 5/16 < 6/16 < 7/16 < 8/16
But 6/16 = 3/8
