Answer:

to find rational no b/w any two no.s its the formula (a+b)/2=(1+2)/2=3/2

now( 1+3/2)/2=5/4

now( 1+5/4)/2=9/8

now (1+9/8)/2=17/16

now the last (1+17/16)/2=33/32

therefore the no.s are 3/2 ,5/4,9/8,17/16,33/32

hope this helps....

Rational numbers:

  • Rational numbers are the numbers that can be written in the form of p/q where p and q are integers and q is not equal to zero.
  • Example: 2/3, 5/7, 9/2 etc.

Given:

  • We have been given two numbers 1 and 2.

To Find:

  • We need to find five rational numbers between 1 and 2.

Solution:

We have been given two numbers 1 and 2.

Inorder to find five rational numbers between these numbers, we can use this formula:

[(a + b)/2]

→ [1 + 2]/2

= 3/2

→ [1 + (3/2) ]/2

= [ (2 + 3)/2 ]/2

= [ 5/2 ]/2

= 5/4

→ [1 + (5/4) ]/2

= [ (4 + 5)4 ]/2

= [ 9/4 ]/2

= 9/8

→ [ (3/2) + 2 ]/2

= [ (3 + 4)/2 ]/2

= 7/4

→ [ (7/4) + 2 ]/2

= [ (7 + 8)/4 ]/2

= 15/8

Hence, five rational numbers between 1 and 2 are 3/2, 5/4, 9/8, 7/4, 15/8.
