Given:

Sum of four consecutive integers = - 142

To find :

The four consecutive integers whose sum is - 142.

Solution:

Let the four consecutive integers are,

n ,  n + 1 , n + 2 , n + 3

Sum of four consecutive integers = - 142

Therefore,

n + n + 1 + n + 2 + n + 3 = - 142

4n + 6 = - 142

4n = - 142 - 6

4n = - 148

n = -\frac{148}{4}

n = - 37

Thus, the four consecutive integers are,

-37 ,  (-37 ) + 1 , (-37 ) + 2 , (-37 ) + 3

- 37 , - 36 , - 35 , - 34

Final answer:

The four consecutive integers with the sum of - 142 are,

- 37 , - 36 , - 35 , - 34
