Find four solutions of the linear equation 5x – 4y = - 8​

First of all, let's rearrange the given equation:

\longrightarrow\sf{5x - 4y =  - 8}

\longrightarrow\sf{5x =  - 8 + 4y}

Now, we have gained our final equation.

Let's find four solutions with the same equation.

We can find out as much as solutions of the equations by finding one of values of x & y. We can put as much as no.s in the terms of x or y & then we can find as much as no.of solutions in equation.

  • Placing y = 0,

 \\ \longrightarrow\sf{5x =  - 8 + 4  \times (0)} \\  \\ \longrightarrow\sf{5x =  - 8 + 0} \\  \\ \longrightarrow\sf{5x =  - 8} \\  \\ \longrightarrow\sf{x =  -  \frac{8}{5} }

  • Placing y = 1,

 \\ \longrightarrow\sf{5x =  - 8 + 4 \times (1)} \\  \\ \longrightarrow\sf{5x =  - 8 + 4} \\  \\ \longrightarrow\sf{5x =  - 4} \\  \\ \longrightarrow\sf{x =  -  \frac{4}{5} }
