900 = 2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 5 x 5

900 =  2² x 3² x 5²

270 = 2 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 5

270 = 2 x 3³ x 5

Find HCF:

HCF = 2 x 3² x 5 = 90

Find LCM:

LCM = 2² x 3³ x 5² = 2700

Answer: HCF = 90, LCM = 2700

In this problem, we are assuming that we have to find the HCF of the given numbers.

Q. Find the HCF of900\  and\  270.

Given: The numbers are900\  and\  270.

We have to find the HCF of the above numbers.

As we know that the greatest common divisor(HCF) of two or more integers, which are not all zero, is the largest positive integer that divides each of the integers.

We are solving in the following way:

We have,

The factors of 270 are: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 15, 18, 27, 30, 45, 54, 90, 135, 270

The factors of 900 are: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 15, 18, 20, 25, 30, 36, 45, 50, 60, 75, 90,\\ 100, 150, 180, 225, 300, 450, 900

From the above, we can see that90 divides each of the given numbers.

Then the greatest common factor(HCF) is90.

Hence, the HCF of the given numbers is90.
