Find HCF and LCM of 404 and 96 and verify that LCM × HCF = product of the two given numbers

Solution:

96 = 2 {}^{5}  \times 3 \\  \\ 404 = 2 {}^{2}   \times  101

HCF: 2^2=4

LCM: 2^5 × 3 × 101=9696

Now

To verify:

LCM × HCF= product of numbers

LHS:

HCF × LCM=9696×4=38784

RHS:

Product of no.s=404 × 96=38784

As,LHS = RHS

Hence, verified.

HCF = 2 × 2 = 4

LCM = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 101 = 9696

Now,

LCM × HCF = 9696 × 4

= 38784

Product of numbers = 404 × 96

= 38784

So it is clear that

LCM × HCF = PRODUCT OF NUMBERS
