Correct Question :

Find the HCF of 120 and 48 and Express it in the form of 120 M + 48 N.

AnsWer :

M = 1.

N = -2.

Solution :

Dividend = Divisor * Q + R.

Now,

120>48.

 \tt \implies120 = 48 \times 2 + 24. \\  \tt \implies48 = 24  \times  2 + 0.

HCF of (120 , 48 ) = 24.

It's Expression,

 \tt \implies24 = 120 - (48 \times 2) \\ \tt \implies 24 = 120(M) + 48(N)

  \tt\implies24 = 120(1) + 48( - 2)

Where, M = 1 and N = -2.

Therefore, the value of expression be M = 1 and N = -2.
