Step-by-step explanation:

First divide highest number, 96, by 2nd highest, 32.

As the remainder is zero so again try other two numbers, 32 and 16. The remainder of these two is also zero so 16 will be the HCF.

Given :

16, 32, 96

To find :

find the HCF by continued division method

Solution :

Refer to Attachment for the HCF of 16, 32, and 96 by continued division method.

Continue Division Method (HCF):

  • We use the continued division method for finding the highest common factor of two or more numbers.
  • First, Divide the larger number by smaller numbers.
  • Then the remainder becomes divisor and the divisor becomes dividend. This will continue until the remainder is 0.
  • The divisor which does not leave a remainder is the H.C.F.
