455 = 42 \times 10 + 35 \\ 42 = 35 \times 1 + 7 \\ 35 = 7 \times 5 + 0 \\ \\ therefore \: the \: HCF \: of \: 455 \: and \: 42 \: is \: 7

42 = 35*1 + 7
35 = 7*5 +0
So last divisor is 7 .So ,HCF would be '7' .
