lets take an example of 135 and 225
since 225 > 135 , we will apply a division lemma to 225 and 135
225=135*90+1
since remainder 90 is not equal to 0, we will apply a division lemma to 135
135=90*1+45
we consider new divisor 90 and the new remainder 45 and apply the the division lemma
90=2*45+0
since the remainder is 0,we will not continue the process
the divisor at this stage is 45.
therefore the HCF of 135 and 225 is 45
since 225 > 135 , we will apply a division lemma to 225 and 135
225=135*90+1
since remainder 90 is not equal to 0, we will apply a division lemma to 135
135=90*1+45
we consider new divisor 90 and the new remainder 45 and apply the the division lemma
90=2*45+0
since the remainder is 0,we will not continue the process
the divisor at this stage is 45.
therefore the HCF of 135 and 225 is 45
