Answer:

23.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of tickets of point 2 be a and  number of tickets of points 5 be  b.

Here,

     In terms of number of tickets :

     Total number of tickets = 60

⇒ a + b = 60

⇒ b = 60 - a            ...( 1 )

  In terms of points :

    Total number of points = 231

⇒ ( tickets x points of that ticket ) + ( tickets of point 5 x number of point 5 tickets ) = 231

⇒ 2a + 5b = 231

⇒ 2a + 5( 60 - a ) = 231

⇒ 2a - 5a+ 300 = 231

⇒ 69 = 3a

⇒ 23 = a

      Hence, number of 2 point-tickets was 23.

23 is your answer:

let see how,

let the number of tickets of point 2 be "a" and the number of tickets of point 5 be " b"

here ,

in term of number of tickets

---------------------------------------

total number of tickets = 60

a+b =60

b=60-a

in term of points :

total number of points=231

=( ticket x point of that ticket )+( ticket of point 5 x number of points 5 tickets ) =231

=2a+ 5b=231

= 2a+5 (60-a) = 231

=2a-5a+300=231

=69=3a

= 23 =a

hope it helps you
