Given factor -2x-5 == x= -5/2 Put this value in given equation p(x) = 3x 4 + 5x 3 - 2x 2 - 4 == 3{(-5/2)^4}+{5(-5/2)^3}-{2(-5/2)^2}-4 == 3(625/16)+5(-125/8)-2(25/4)-4 == taking LCM 16 == 3(625)-5(125)2-2(25)4-4(16)/16 == 1875-1250-200-64/16 == 361/16 Bcz answer of equation is not zero hence -2x-5 is not a factor of given polynomial
