Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

Circular base diameter 10cm and height 12cm of a cone .

To find:-

Find the Curved Surface Area in terms of π ?

Solution:-

Given that

Diameter of the base of the cone = 10 cm

We know that

  • Diameter = 2×radius

=>Radius = Diameter/2

=> Radius = 10/2 = 5 cm

Radius of the cone = 5 cm

Height = 12 cm

We know that

Slant height of the cone =√(h^2+r^2) units

=>l = √(12^2+5^2) cm

=> l = √(144+25) cm

=> l =√169 cm

=> l = 13 cm

Slant height of the cone = 13 cm

Now,

Curved Surface Area of a cone = πrl sq.units

=> CSA = π×5×13 sq.cm

=> CSA = 65π sq.cm

Answer:-

Curved Surface Area of the given cone is

65π sq.cm

Used formulae:-

  • Diameter = 2×radius

  • Radius = Diameter/2

  • Slant height of the cone =√(h^2+r^2) units

  • Curved Surface Area of a cone = πrl sq.units

Where,

  • l = Slant height of the cone

  • r = radius of the cone

  • h = height of the cone

  • π=22/7
