Solution, In triangle ABC

=> Area of triangle ABC = 1/2× base× heigth

= 1/2 × 20 × 12

= 10×12

= 120 cm^2

In triangle ADC,

=> Area of triangle ADC = 1/2× base× heigth

= 1/2× 20× 18

= 10×18

= 180 cm^2

Now the area of quadrilateral ABCD = area of triangle ABC + area of triangle ADC

ar(ABCD) = 120+ 180

ar(ABCD) = 300 cm^2
