Given that -2 is one solution.

$= > ( { - 2)}^{2} - k( - 2) - 16 = 0$

=> 4 +2k -16 = 0

=> 2k = 12

=> k = 6.

So, The equation is ,

$= > {x}^{2} - 6x - 16 = 0$

$= > {x}^{2} - 8x + 2x - 16 = 0$

$= > x(x - 8) + 2(x - 8) = 0$

$= > (x - 8)(x + 2) = 0$

=> x = -2 or 8

So, The other solution is 8.
