Let

x= 1, b= 5k c= 16

For equal roots,

b²-4ac=0

(5k)²-4.(1).(16)=0

25k²-64=0

k²=64/25

k = ± 8/5

jcxg: how it became 8/5
maloorajrishi: Square root lol, what are you learning in schools?
jcxg: oo really

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

roots real and equal -----> delta >= 0.

----> 25 k^2 - 64 = 0 ----> k^2 = 64/25

-----> k = +- 8/5.
