points are collinear means

slope of AB= slope of BC

1−(−2)

2−3

=

k+1

0−2

⇒−1/3=−2/k+1

⇒−1(k+1)=−6

⇒−k+1=−6

⇒−k=−6−1

⇒+k=+7

∴k=7.
