sum of zeroes is equal to -b/a

in this quadratic equation
a = k
b = 4

It is given in the question that the square of sum of zeroes is 24

(-4/k)^2 = 24
(16/k^2) = 24
k^2 = 16/24
k^2 = 2/3

Therefore k is equal to root 2/3
