Given x-2 is factor of x^3-5x^2+kx+4 Put x= 2 in given eq, => (2)^3-5(2)^2+k(2)+4 => 8-20+2k+4 => -8+2k=0 => 2k= 8 => k=4

Since x-2 is a factor ,
x-2 = 0 for given equation x^3....
hence putting value , x=2 {by factor theorem},
x3-5x2+kx+4 = 0
solve the equation for k by putting 2 in place of x
ans- k = 2
