Hey!!!...here is ur answer

put x=1 in given eq

(1)^2-2×1+k=0

If x- 1 is a factor of
 {x}^{2}  + 2 - 2x + k  \: then \: x - 1 = 0 \: hence \: x = 1
If we input the value x=1 where p(1) = 0 as x-1 leaves no remainder on division ( by remainder/ factor theorem ) if we input the value of x in the equation then
 {1}^{2}   + 2 - 2 \times x \: + k \: = 0
1 + 2 - 2 + k = 0
1 + k = 0
k = -1
