Hey friend, Harish here.

Here is your answer;

Given that,

(x - 1) Is a factor of the given expression.

To find,

The value of x.

Solution:

Let p(x) = x² - 2x + k.

Then,

As ( x - 1 ) Is a factor , p(1) = 0.

So, p(1) = (1)² - 2(1) + k = 0

              ⇒ 1 - 2 + k = 0

              ⇒ k - 1 = 0

              ⇒ k = 1

Therefore the value of k is 1.
