  • 6 = 2 × 3

  • 12 = 2 × 2 × 3

  • HCF = 2 × 3

HCF = 6

  • LCM = 2 × 3 × 2

LCM = 12

LCM => Least common factor

HCF => Highest common factor

To find the HCF and LCM of 6 and 12 .

Firstly we have to find their multiples ....

6 = 2 × 3

12 = 2 × 2 × 3

Here , HCF = 2 × 3 = 6

And LCM = 2 × 2 × 3 = 12
