Question :- find LCM of 76,24 and 18 using two different methods i.e finding multiples and prime factorization ?

Solution :-

LCM by prime factorization Method :-

→ 76 = 2 * 2 * 19 = 2² * 19

→ 24 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 3 = * 3

→ 18 = 2 * 3 * 3 = 2 *

(Taking all highest power .)

→ LCM = 2³ * 3² * 19 = 8 * 9 * 19 = 1368 (Ans.)

LCM by Common Multiples Method :-

we have to look for least common multiple of given numbers .

→ Multiples of 76 = 76, 152, 228, 304, 380, 456, 532, 608, 684, 760, 836, 912, 988, 1064, 1140, 1216, 1292, 1368, 1444 --------------

→ Multiples of 24 = 24 , 48 , 72 , 96 , 120 , 144 , 168 , 192 , 216 , 240 _____________ 1368 , 1392

→ Multiples of 18 = 18, 36 , 54 , 72 , 90 , 108 , 126 , 144 , 162 , 180_____________ 1368 , 1386

As, we can see least Multiples common in all three is 1368.

Therefore, LCM of 76, 24 and 18 is 1368.
