Let the width be x

length = 3x - 4

Perimeter of rectangle = 2( l + b)

⟹ $\sf 48 = 2(x + 3x - 4 )$

⟹ $\sf 48 = 2 ( 4x - 4)$

⟹ $\sf \frac{48}{2} = 4x - 4$

⟹ $\sf 4x - 4 = 24$

⟹ $\sf 4x = 24 + 4$

⟹ $\sf x = \frac{28}{4}$
