Given length of the rectangle = 16m
breadth of the rectangle = 12m
Diagonal of the rectangle = ?
we know that the diagonal of a rectangle divides it into two right angled triangles
So , Diagonal² = length² + breadth²(Pythagoras theorum)
⇒Diagonal² = (16)² + (12)²
⇒Diagonal² = 256 + 144 = 400
⇒Diagonal = √400 = 20m
Therefore , length of the diagonal = 20m .
