Step-by-step explanation:

lets draw a line BE such that it becomes the altitude of

∆BEC

AB=DE = 14cm-DC.

Area of the fig =77cm²

area of parallelogram + area of triangle = 77cm²

(l×h)+ (1/2bh) = 77cm²

(14cm-EC)(7cm) +(1/2EC)×(7cm)= 77cm²

(14cm-EC) +( EC/2) = 11cm ( dividing both side by 7cm)

28cm-2EC+EC= 22cm (taking lcm and transferring 2)

-EC = 22cm-28cm

EC= 6cm

And we know DE= 14cm-EC = 14cm-6cm= 8cm.

Thus, AB = 8cm
