Find m if the quadratic equation (m-12)X2 +2(m-12)x+2=o has real and equal roots​

Given quadratic equation is,

(m-12)x^2 + 2(m-12)x + 2 = 0

Comparing this equation to the equation

ax^2 + bx + c = 0,

a = m-12

b = 2(m-12)

c = 2

●We know that a quadratic equation has a real and equal roots if and only if,

b^2 - 4ac = 0

=> {2(m-12)}^2 - 4(m-12)(2) = 0

=> 4 (m-12)^2 - 8(m-12) = 0

=> (m-12)^2 - 2(m-12) = 0

=> (m-12)(m-12-2) = 0

=> m = 12 or m= 14

●So value of is either 12 or 14 for the required situation.
