The value of m + n = 2

Given :

The linear equations 21m + 29n = 51 and 21n + 29m = 49

To find :

The value of m + n

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Write down the given equations

Here the given linear equations are

21m + 29n = 51

21n + 29m = 49

Step 2 of 2 :

Find the value m + n

Adding the equations we get

21m + 29n + 21n + 29m = 51 + 49

⇒ 21m + 29m + 21n + 29n = 100

⇒ 50m + 50n = 100

⇒ 50 ( m + n ) = 100

⇒ m + n = 100/50

⇒ m + n = 2

The value of m + n = 2
