The formula for finding mean is

mean = sum of observations/ number of all observations

mean =  54 + 65 + 87 + 46  / 4

           = 252/4

           = 63
So the mean is 63

Given: 54,65,87,46

We have to find the mean of the above data.

  • As we know that the mean of a data set is the sum of the terms divided by the total number of terms.
  • The formula for mean is:
  • \text { Mean }=\frac{\text { Sum of terms }}{\text { Number of terms }}

We are solving in the following way:

We have,

54,65,87,46

Here,

\text { Sumof terms }=54+65+87+46=252\\\text { Number of terms }=4

Now, the mean of the given data will be:

\begin{aligned}\text { Mean } &=\frac{\text { Sum of terms }}{\text { Number of terms }} \\\text { Mean } &=\frac{252}{4} \\\text { Mean } &=63\end{aligned}

Hence, we get\begin{aligned}\text { Mean } &=63\end{aligned}
