Mean of first 50 whole numbers = (Sum of first 50 whole numbers)/50
First whole number = 0
Number of remaining whole numbers = 49
Formula for finding the sum of first n natural numbers= [n(n+1)] / 2
So the sum of first 50 natural numbers = (49 × 50)/2 = 1225
So the mean = 1225 / 50 = 24.5
Median
n= 50 (even)
Median = [(n/2)th term + (n/2 + 1)th term] / 2
= (25th term + 26 term) /2
= (24 + 25) /2
= 49/2
= 24.5
First whole number = 0
Number of remaining whole numbers = 49
Formula for finding the sum of first n natural numbers= [n(n+1)] / 2
So the sum of first 50 natural numbers = (49 × 50)/2 = 1225
So the mean = 1225 / 50 = 24.5
Median
n= 50 (even)
Median = [(n/2)th term + (n/2 + 1)th term] / 2
= (25th term + 26 term) /2
= (24 + 25) /2
= 49/2
= 24.5
